Steve Hislop.

Steve Hislop. The legend, the would be BSB champion that year. It was an honor to talk to him and get his autograph. I bought the same hat he was wearing in this pic, but I lost it on one of the rides later that week at Chessington (an amusement park). I bought another one from some british website but it wasn't the same.

Steve Hislop and Jaime Robinson.

Autographs from Steve Hislop and Jaime Robinson. Jaime Robinson and James Haydon seem to be the superbike equivalent of the Backstreet Boys. Very pretty, and they know it, but not a whole lot of talent (for riding superbikes anyway). That's not completely fair, Haydon has had some success. And I really wanted these guys to do good because I like this team a lot (because they hired Gobert!). Robinson really acts like a rock star and he doesn't deserve to because he was mired in the ranks of the privateers the whole year. Haydon has some talent, but I think Foggy is crazy for signing him. He should have gone for someone with real grit like Rutter or even Hislop or Reynolds. Haydon will do mediocre, no better. Mark my words.

Back to Hislop... He's a walking legend. Kind of the equivalent of Chandler or DuHamel in the states. But this guy has never had a world level ride. He's referred to as the best rider that never got a world level ride. I'd have to agree with that. Get him back on the Monster Mob Ducati!
